~ Crossing Arizona ~
“No one deserves to die in the desert for lack of a cup of water.” - Mike Wilson
May 20, 2007~2:00p.m.
Mike Wilson is a Tribal Member of the Tohono O’odham Nation. Mike is many times invited to be a guest speaker in regards to the lessons learned by others from his actions to help migrants in the desert. The film “ Crossing Arizona ” is the story of why Mr. Wilson places water for migrants as they cross Arizona. Mike Wilson began placing barrels of water in his Tribal lands, in an early season of 2001, to prevent migrants from dying of dehydration as they cross through the lands of the Tohono O’odham Nation.
