Physician Assisted Suicide Bill AB 374 - No Real Safeguards
March 20, 2007
Physician-assisted suicide has historically expanded beyond the terminally ill and progressed to euthanasia as it did in Nazi Germany and the Netherlands. In the Netherlands today some elderly and disabled forgo hospitalization, fearing involuntary euthanasia. In Oregon, the only state where physician assisted suicide is legal, the Oregon Health Service admits it cannot determine whether physician-assisted suicide is being practiced outside the framework of the Oregon Death with Dignity Act, which AB 374 is modeled after. There are no real safeguards.
- If you have not already done so, please sign the petition against physician-assisted suicide available at your church.
- Visit www.ca-aas.com for more information on dangers of assisted suicide.
- Contact AB 374 coauthor Mike Feuer and urge him to reject physician assisted suicide; it cannot be controlled, victimizes the vulnerable, and causes doctors to help kill patients. Write, phone, fax or email:
