Enlighten Yourself - Opportunities for education and growth

August 26, 2007

Sponsored by the Archdiocesan Metropolitan Tribunal, there are a couple of fantastic and educational opportunities starting up on October that everyone should take advantage of.

  1. Spirit and Law Convention
The fourth annual Spirit and Law Convention will be held from  October 1 through October 7th at the Archdiocesan Catholic Center (located at 3434 Wilshire Boulevard).  While the main focus of this event is on providing perspectives of Canon Law, there are many other topics being presented that are relevant to all of the faithful.  In particular, reccomended sessions include: “An Ecumenical and Interfaith Journey to Religious Sites,” “Gospel Values and Human Resources,” “To Build with Living Stones,” “Co-workers in the Vineyard of the Lord,” and “Where Two are Gathered”.  Read the brochure to find which of the many sessions interests you.  Updated information will be available soon at http://archdiocese.la/spiritandlaw
  2. Adult Education - Learn More About Your Faith
Choose from four fifteen-week courses being taught at the Archdiocesan Catholic Center and at St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo.  The courses start up in October and run through January and can be taken for credit towards a Bachelor in Theology (through the International Institute of Tribunal Studies and the Graduate Theological Foundation - for more information on this degree program contact Msgr. Charles Chaffman at (213) 637-7209) The courses are Introduction to the New Testament, Survey of Philosophy, Catholic Fundamental Moral Theology and Basic Latin - Part I.  Course descriptions and registration can be accessed by clicking here
